Bright Colours, Coral Sunset Peonies + Gold Shoes! Jen + Chris // R E A L W E D D I N G

Emerald & Jade Flowers // Bristol Wedding Florist //

When a bride emails me about wedding flowers, and tells me from the start that she prefers rich, jewel tones such as emerald green and navy blue, paired with bright flowers, I know we’re going to get on just fine! I met Jen and Chris at a wedding fair a little while back, and they got back in touch for their wedding flowers.  They got married at the Bristol Registry Office, and then celebrated at St George’s Hall just off Park Street. Pastel rustic barn wedding for Lauren + Chris // REAL WEDDING

Today I’m excited to share Lauren + Chris’ pastel, rustic wedding at Kingscote Barn, thanks to Charlotte’s photos from Bristol Contemporary Photography. Lauren had her heart set on a rustic, barn wedding from the start, and I think you’ll agree from the photos that they achieved this beautifully!

Lauren + Chris met at University, and got engaged on their 6 year anniversary at a spa hotel. Chris had made Lauren a photo book and at the end it said “will you marry me?” ♥

For the flowers, Lauren decorated a lot of jars with jute string, burlap and lace. The venue was decorated with a lot of these jam jars, with a variety of pastel colours.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Emerald & Jade Flowers

Happy New Year everyone!

If you’re like me, you might feel as though 2017 has been going on for a long time already, and when people ask you about Christmas you wonder why they’re asking you about something that happened so long ago! Funny how time can go so quickly, yet we are only in mid January…

My intention was always to write a blog post at the end of 2016… It was a great year for Emerald & Jade Flowers, and I am incredibly grateful for everyone who helped support my business, from all the amazing clients I had, friends and family who recommended me to everyone around them, the incredible suppliers I’ve met and worked with… Working in an office as a lawyer seems like a long, long time ago (which I guess in a way, it was). Becoming a Regional Finalist for The Wedding Industry Awards was an amazing cherry to go on top all of that!

Being self-employed, means I am lucky to work when and how I want, which is simply amazing especially when working around two little ones. My eldest turned 6 just before Christmas, and I am so grateful to be able to work around her and her brother, and I am also grateful for my clients who happily let me take them to consultations with me at times were I couldn’t leave them at home.

Emerald & Jade Flowers

2016 was a very big year for me, and for Emerald & Jade Flowers. But I am equally excited about 2017. For the time being, I have decided to focus mainly on Wedding Flowers. As I work from home, I take on a limited amount of weddings each year, so that I can give my full attention to each couple for their big day. From the consultation until even after the big day, I remain available to all my clients for any queries they may have concerning their flowers and their wedding. 2017 is looking busy already but I do still have some free dates, so don’t hesitate to get in touch to book a consultation here.

I also have some exciting ideas to go alongside the flowers, so keep your eyes peeled for more info!

Most of all, 2017 will be the year I continue to explore ways to live a beautiful life. Which is also what Emerald & Jade Flowers is all about. In line with this, I am working on an incredible giveaway for Mothers’ Day, along with some amazing Bristol suppliers. Details will be announced via Instagram so make sure you follow me so you don’t miss out.

I am also working to host a variety of workshops and I am currently looking into various venue options in Bristol to host these. If you would like to take part in a workshop, or if you have a space that would feel would be perfect for such an event, please do get in touch 🙂

So here’s to another year filled with flowers, beauty, and a happy, mindful life ♥

What will you be focusing on in 2017?

REAL WEDDING – Izzi + Chris – Jenny Packham & bright flowers

I met Izzi and Chris at a wedding fair I did last year. They were initially due to be married next summer, but when they found out there would soon be a happy arrival, they decided to move the wedding forward. As such, when Izzi contacted me for her wedding flowers, the wedding was due to take place just over a month later. I already had a two week holiday booked in so we met just before I went and got talking flowers and planning. (more…)

REAL WEDDING – Kirsty + Dom – Bright & Vibrant

Bristol wedding florist // Emerald & Jade Flowers - // photography by

Kirsty contacted me via my website, when she was looking for a wedding florist. Kirsty told me that their wedding was to be fairly informal, and as such they didn’t have a colour scheme. She also did not want a formal looking bouquet. Other than that, she told me she loved the photos of my work and so was happy to let me decide on what would look beautiful for her wedding.

I therefore chose some beautiful bright and vibrant flowers for her, and I loved the result! The venue also had a table with turquoise legs which really looked incredible with the bright pinks and yellows. (more…)

REAL WEDDING – Fiona + Richard – A Classic Wedding

Emerald & Jade Flowers // Photography:

Fiona and I used to work together, back when I was a lawyer! When she became engaged, I was thrilled when she asked me to quote her for wedding flowers. Fiona was great to work with. She knew she wanted a classic wedding, with red roses and white flowers, and we worked together to create what it was she had in mind. Her bouquet included gorgeous Red Naomi roses, white Avalanche roses, white Freesias and white Eustoma. It looked, and smelt, amazing! Fiona loved it so much she ordered a similar bouquet from me for her mother on Mother’s day 🙂

Similar bouquets but on a smaller scale made up the table centrepieces. These were  essentially small hand tied bouquets. I had provided some wrapped up paper and ribbons, ready for the guests to take home the flowers at the end of the night. A very popular option at the moment 🙂

Fiona and Richard met through work, and got engaged at Walton Hall and Gardens during a fancy picnic. They got married at Henleaze Trinity United Reformed Church, and had their reception in Old Down Manor, in Bristol. I decorated the pillars and the ladies from the Church decorated the rest of the Church. They were so friendly and made me really welcome whenever I’d pop into the Church, I enjoyed every visit! Lucy and her team at Old Down Manor were also great and really helpful, and it is a stunning wedding venue!

Fiona’s advice to couples planning their wedding:

Enjoy every moment of the preparations as it is all part of the fun.

Make sure you spend quality time together in the lead up, where wedding chat/planning is banned!
